We need to purchase a new 'used' vehicle. We had a 2000 Mazda 626 which has been incredibly reliable (which unfortunately has been 'written off''). We want a station wagen, automatic/tiptronic, fairly good fuel ecomony and under $12,000 or abouts. We have seen the Honda Avancier 2.3 Nouvelle-Vauge wagons with low kms for very low prices. Is there some dire reason why they are so well priced? Any information would be much appreciated and any recommendations for other wagons also. Thank you

The Avancier is part of the Accord family so in terms of reliability and quality it would not be a bad choice.

The more popular used import wagon in NZ however is the Mazda Atenza. If you have owned a Mazda before then this vehicle may be worth a look.

For around 12K you can buy a very good Atenza so I wouldn’t be paying anymore for a Honda of similar age and mileage.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just looking at some altenza's and found one 06 with 115ks and asking only 11900! Thing is when I look further I see it is four wheel drive. Designated 23C can you comment on this. Cheers.

I haven’t heard anything negative about the 4WD system but if I had the choice I would prefer to stay with a more conventional 2WD model.
