Hi, I'm in need of a new car. My last car was a /mazda Demio 2006.
I had it for close to 10 years. I need a car that is reliable, economical: easy to maintain (service myself every now and then) and fuel efficient. I prefer manual over automatic. I live in Auckland and don't travel too far daily. I am likely to be driving a few times a year to Ohakune and the Whanganui river. I am currently looking at a MAzda6 TS2 2008 Manual 6sp but have been tempted by a 2008 Toyota fielder 5sp manual and an Axela 5sp manual.
I am struggling to decide and would love some guidance around this if possible. My budget is $8-10k, preferring $8k

Hi it looks like you are looking in the right places. These models are all quite reliable out of the bunch the Mazda 6 would be my pick these are comfortable, relatively fuel efficient and stylish. If it is a New Zealand new model you may be able to get some service information from Mazda which is a bonus.
