Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying a Subaru forrester 2008 ish model. Is there anything to avoid mechanically from this vehicle or any other similar make/model cars that would be better?

Hi there are a few issues with these look out for oil leaks and sometimes wheel bearing noise on higher mileage models overall not a bad choice. Its hard to find a off 4X4 wagon at the price these are going for these days.
You could get something like an Audi All road however these are quite complex and costly to repair as they age.
