I'm looking for a car for my Uni student daughter. I've seen a 2008 Mitzibishi Colt plus done 120 000Km that I was really keen on, but on driving it have realised it's quite a big car. The Mazda Verisa is a 2006 and has done 146 000 and is more expensive. What do you think would be the best bet?

Hi there,
Solely looking at Rightcar safety ratings, the Colt Plus is 2 star and the Verisa is 3, so that would be my decision made. I would have said that the Mazda Verisa ticks a lot more boxes that the Colt, reliability, and maintenance wise.

Thanks for that. Do you know whether the Mazda Verisa is chain or belt driven? The one I'm looking at is a 2006

Hi there,
The Mazda ZY-VE 1.5l engine that looks to be used in the Verisa is chain driven and is commonly used by Mazda in a lot of their vehicles.
