Hi, I'm thinking of buying a used Hiace around $20,000 to get certified for self contained and drive it daily.
On trademe I see mostly 2.0 petrol auto & 2.7 petrol auto used imports.
I'm hoping to get some information on these points.
. Fuel consumption comparison between the 2.0 & 2.7
. Is the 2.0 auto lacking sufficient power.
. Will any rear seats etc removed need reinstalling to pass a WOF.
. Is there a particular model that might be preferable, or anything to look for to suit the intended purpose.
. What are the concerns when buying used imports.
Thanks for your time.
Any other advice is appreciated.

Hi there,
Imported vehicles generally don't have much information available so it's not really possible to find much by way of compression.
Seat removal is not a cause of WoF failure.
It is important to keep in mind that imports have had a previous life and you are dealing with unknown service, repairs, or treatment- so whatever vehicle you get it pays to have it checked out to make sure it's not rusty and might need a full service after purchase.
