I am wanting to buy a new car. I don't do heaps of commuting in the city, but I'd like to do more long distance travel/road trips. Fuel efficiency is important to me, so I've been thinking of hybrids but I'm not sure what they're like for the open road. I am long at a small or medium car. Any advice/suggestions of cars that would be good for some city driving but good for the open road would be appreciated.

Hi there,
Toyota have great small and medium hybrid options. The small hatch called Prius C or Aqua as an import, and the larger engine regular Prius models are great fuel efficient options. Even though they may have a Power mode- hybrids are not generally power houses and will hold 100kph ok but can be a little slow to get you there. Fuel efficiency can come at the expense of performance with some hybrid vehicles.
