We're looking at second hand vans which we could also use for camping, and I'm confused by the varying floor heights between different models of Vanettes/Bongos; some have low floors with the wheel wells visible, and some have raised floors, flat above the wheels. With the raised floors, is that just dead space? And could it be cut into (to get more head room) without affecting the structure?
Hi there,
I am not familiar with the floorpan of various vans sorry. However this link should provide general wof guidelines on vehicle structural areas. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-structure/structure-incl2.-frontal-impact
