Kia ora, We’re looking for a new medium SUV, for 2 people, a small dog, and a baby on the way. It’s mainly for around town, with monthly road trips. We’ve nothing to tow and no need for 4/AWD.

Based on space and safety we are considering 2018-2020 Tucson, Sportage, Skoda Karoq, or VW Tiguan.

Are there any you would recommend, rule out, or other good options we have missed?

This is a tough choice as there are a lot of great vehicles in this size and SUV class. I think budget and features that suit your requirements could be part of the deciding factors. Seat adjustment, vision through the windows, the little extras that might tick a few more boxes when comparing. The Mazda CX-5 could be another choice?
