Hi. I’m looking for a converted self contained van. Have come across a 1999 Ford Transit which has great space but my searches on line suggest transits can be unreliable vehicles. What would you advise about these vehicles? Thanks

They are possibly no less reliable than any other European van of that period. As the vehicle is 21 years old, any issues it had along the way should have been rectified or been made evident by now. There is a potential that it may or may not have been looked after the last 21 years. I recommend getting an inspection to determine the condition before purchase so you know what you are starting with. I would also budget to allow for potential additional repairs come warrant or service time.
