I know in past posts you've said not to worry about unreliable odometers, but does it matter at all? I'm looking at buying a 95 Pulsar X1R Sedan, which according to the carjam report I just purchased has an unreliable odometer. Obviously it is imported, and the odo reading at the border check was very low (15,868km for an 8 year old car...) but the odo reading in NZ has never dropped etc. Why is carjam telling me it is known to be unreliable (presumably from the border check), what does this mean for me as a buyer, and how concerned should I be?

I can’t ever remember making that comment about odometers to be honest.

Without looking at the report its hard to say why those comments have been made. Normally they are due to a odometer reading which has gone backwards during the cars life in NZ.

I think you should go back to carjam and ask them to explain why they suspect the car has an unreliable odometer.
