I have decided on a toyota suv.2014-2016 range.
I have a choice between the older 2AR-FE motor( with the 2496cc) and reliable transmission or the newer 3ZR-FE motor (1987cc) with the less reliable CVT transmission.The newer motor/cvt weighs about 100 kg less.I have a small boat weighing 430 kg to tow .Dog and lemon guide could give no data on either engine which surprised me somewhat as there was data on the Honda SUV available.Also is the extra KW negated by the increased weight and fuel consumption.Hope you can advise.

If you are looking at a model with a weak CVT then towing won't do it any favours, so I recommend the most reliable option to start with.
