Hi, I am looking at a 2014 VW Golf TSI Highline wagon from Japan, being sold by a registered dealer here. The car looks absolutely immaculate, but has no service log book / history and has done 95,000 kms (approx. 17,000 kms/year). The one thing the dealer knows is that it was a one owner sales rep, hence high 'mileage'. The car dealer is trying to find out more from Japan agent, and "Also seeing if we can get records from VW Japan via chassis, sometimes possible", but I don't expect to find out more from them.
My question to you, please, is whether you know the usual practice for company vehicle fleet servicing in Japan? (I know that privately-owned cars in Japan don't usually get serviced after the factory warranty runs out, and fear that the same may apply to a company's fleet.) If they are like NZ, their fleet cars will be well maintained.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might offer.
Kind regards
Morgan

Hi Morgan,
Sorry also not much is known about what happens to vehicles in Japan other than what we have seen in cars that arrive here. I imported a BMW X3 2011 and it had some warranty and service information from the BMW dealer through the BMW network. If this Golf was also serviced through the dealer network- there might be more information available- however it is rare to find information and servicing usually has to start from scratch once they arrive in NZ.
