I am looking to upgrade.

Two options I favour. The first is the Volvo V60. I have heard the T4 often used a Powershift semi-automatic. Is this the same as the ford Powershit transmission? T5 and T6 AWD also on the list (yes the T6s 300hp is very appealing). How do these rank reliability and build quality wise? My intention would be to have them serviced at the local dealer (Archibald’s )

In comparison though smaller, what would an AWD 2.0 (non turbo) Subaru Impreza 2012/2013 be like? Are they favoured?

You are right in avoiding a Volvo fitted with the power shift transmission as regular Volvo automatics are much more desirable.

We haven't had a flood of complaints about the models you have mentioned however regular servicing and repairs may be more expensive vs the Subaru

If you are looking for a vehicle with lower running costs in the long run we would suggest opting for the Subaru Impreza, however its performance and comfort may not be quite on a par with Volvo.
