Hi. I currently use a 2006 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 Diesel which tows beautifully but has one drawback. The spare wheel hanging on the back prevents me using the Alko hitch on the caravan. Every time I use the caravan the spare has to be removed and placed inside the car. Is there a particular vehicle I should consider as an upgrade next time, without spending more than around $10k more?

Maybe a Mazda Cx5 diesel might suit or Toyota Rav4, VW Tiguan could be other options to consider. Naturally this depends on the weight you are towing- as the Pajero should have a pretty high capacity.
