We are looking at replacing our ageing Holden Commodore. We want something capable of towing our caravan (GVM - 1550kg) and are considering a Kia Sportage, max towing capacity 1600kg.
In your opinion, will this do the job?

While it's not law, I recommend leaving a few hundred kg of towing capacity to allow for luggage etc without the danger of towing too much weight and stressing the transmission or affecting the braking safety performance.
