Ask an expert
Hi,
I am looking to buy a Japanese import through a dealer. Hybrid up 80k kms.
Should I an AA pre purchase inspection?
Any advice & tips to watch for.
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
It is best to get a pre purchase inspection because you really want to make sure the vehicle is in an acceptable condition for you to make an informed decision. And this can also help negotiate repairs and purchase price based on the outcome. The big thing is to make sure it is not rusty underneath and doesn't have mud and snow tyres fitted.
Thank you.
Can we request an inspection without being there. I.e. you go to the dealership to inspect the car?
Cheers

Yes depending on NZ location, we have a mobile inspection service who go out to most dealers to inspect. https://www.aa.co.nz/cars/buying-a-car/car-buying-guide/pre-purchase-vehicle-inspections/
