Looking at purchasing a 7 seater Hyundai sante fe but most seem to be diesel and 4wd, I'm used to petrol and automatic vehicles does it make much difference being diesel from petrol, more costly to maintain?

I seems lately that the costs of running a diesel per year is quite close to that of a petrol. Diesels are great for towing and like to travel, so if you are predominantly driving short distances then a diesel may not suit. But they are economic and can travel quite far on a tank of fuel.
