Hi there,
I am considering buying a used car. Does the seller of the car have a legal obligation to take the car through for a WOF prior to sale, or is a 'current' WOF enough? i.e. a car that has had a WOF inspection done 6 months ago, and isn't due for another inspection for 6 months. Does the seller need to get a WOF done to make sure it is roadworthy at time of sale?

Hi there,
By rights any vehicle sold by a dealer must have a wof no older than 28days old. Private sales must just have a current wof or sold "as is where is" written into the receipt/ contract.

thankyou very much. really appreciate.
