Is the Pre Purchase inspection more in-depth than the AA Compliance Certificate (the one for importing)?

We're planning on buying a vehicle that's been imported this month. It ticks all the boxes in the Compliance Certificate so we were wondering if we still need to have a Pre-Purchase inspection? Thank you.

The vehicle compliance inspection is very similar to a WoF and so makes sure the vehicle is safe to be operated on the road- on the day of inspection. It does not check the condition of the items not associated with compliance- does the A/C go, is the battery ok, repairs, paint condition etc. So definitely worth getting a PPI to help you make an informed buying decision.
