I am tossing up between a Honda fit or a Mazda Verista about 2010 models. I see the safety rating on the fit is a low 2. I can not find the safety rating for the verista can you help please.

Unfortunately there is usually no information available for Japanese domestic imports, in some cases a NZ new equivalent may have similar specifications, but there is no NZ similarity for the Mazda Verisa.

My pick would be the Mazda as there is potential for less issues with regards to the transmission and shuddering complaints in the Honda Fit CVT. Not all give issue and there are generally ways to remedy issues but sometimes it can be expensive. The Mazda as a whole seems to be a little better known for having less problems.

It's not a website we use or able to be cross referenced in NZ to the ANCAP or Rightcar UCSR ratings, but it might be enough to satisfy yourself on the safety items included when purchasing an imported vehicle.
