Hi there, I am looking to purchase a car without having to spend too big a money. My two examples at this stage are a Nissan pulser station wagon 2005, 45000kms from a private seller, or a mazda axela sedan 2005, 25000 kms from a dealer, both around the $6000 - $7000 mark, which saves me a little, even originally I intended on a newer more expensive model, but I'm thinking sometimes the older ones were built just a good, if genuine milage and looked after. the dealer one gives a 3 month warranty so expect some reassurance there. Both been milage certified too. Both cars are manual. From what I've read the Axelas in 1500 manual are good?? Just want a good car that will give me a good long run, without overspending. Thanking you in advance, advise much appreciated once again.

Hi there,
I think both these cars in manual would be good choices as you can get the most out of the smaller engine. The Pulsar is NZ new and the Axela is an import version of the Corolla. I'm not aware of any real issues with either car, it may come down to personal choice, dealer vs private.
