My husband and I are looking for a new station wagon to replace our Toyota Caldina. We have up to $19k and want a 2L engine, hoping for 2008 or later. We are wondering about a Toyota Avensis, or a Mazda 6. What would you recommend and what should we look out for?

Both of these cars would be great choices of wagon, I would recommend staying away from the 2.4L import Avensis as the engine could have a potential to be a bit problematic. A vehicle history check is recommended to see mileage trail history, ownership trail, and any finance registered against it.
Service history would be handy if available. The average motorist would travel between 10-15k a year, so this would give an indication if the km's are high for the age or low.
