Hi I'm looking for a mini van under $5k 2004 or newer and <180.000km. I either drive 5 people with heaps of luggage, or 2 people and we sleep in. For this situation, I'd like to fold down the seats completely incl. the 3 row (if it's 7seater but doesn't have to be).
Safety is not the highest priority but the car should be reasonably reliable with good fuel economy and must be spacious.
I consider Nissan Presage 2nd generation, 3rd gen Mazda MPV (that's more expensive though) but I'd probably have to take off the 2nd row of seats as the 3rd row can't be folded back flat.
Another options Nissan Lafesta or Toyota Estima or another Toyota - I can't really see the difference, there are so many. Toyotas are also generally way more expensive than Nissan - why?
Could you recommend which minivan would be the best? Either one of the above or anything else please.

Hi there,
Toyota vehicles generally have the best reliability which is why they cost more. I think country of origin might determine the name, NZ new vs Japanese import. Toyota Estima vs Previa. Mazda are also known as a good reliable vehicle. Generally there is no information available for a used import vehicle, however as with any vehicle purchase it is recommended to get it pre-purchase inspected before you buy.
