Hi AA,

I'm interested in getting the Mazda Demio, which I will only drive it during the weekends around the city, and occasionally for road trips. I initially targeting the 15C version as I'm afraid that 13C version will be under power, but my friend who owns a 2009 Mazda Demio 13C attested that 13C is good enough and has no issue climbing the hill. Is that true?

Besides, if both cars below cost the same, which is a better buy and why?
1) 2009 Mazda Demio 13C-V (77,000km)
2) 2007 Mazda Demio 13C-V (48,500km)

And if to include the following for comparison, which of the 4 is a better bargain?
3) 2009 Mazda Demio 13C (63,500km)
4) 2007 Mazda Demio 15C (82,000km)
(in terms of reliability and long-lasting with less mechanical problems as long as is serviced on time. I had an awful experience with a lemon which broke down too frequent that I've to write it off, so am hoping to get one with less issues)

For the above Demios, will they required big service on certain mileage and how much would it likely to cost?

Thank you so much and I appreciate your time to answer my inquiries.

Hi there,
With imported vehicles, previous servicing is one of the great "unknowns" as to determining the longevity once it reaches NZ roads. However, Mazda have been producing some very good vehicles and the Demio has generally been see as an efficient and reliable choice. The impact of engine size will be evident if you are loading the vehicle and travelling distances- generally out of town, where a small engine might feel a bit under powered.
