I'm looking for a new wagon (currently have a 98 caldina 2.0G which has been great and will be hard to give up, but mileage is at >340,000 now).

I like the look and sound of the Mazda Atenza.
Currently looking at test driving a 2005, 2.3L, AWD Atenza, 174,000km - priced at approx 5K.

1. Any concerns with the AWD model?
2. I imagine the fuel consumption could be a bit more than my current Caldina (~ 8.7L/100km)? - I commute about 550km a week.
3. I understand that the Atenza is chain driven?
4. Does the 2.3L require 95 fuel?....do the 2L models also require this?
5. Anything else I should consider.
