Hi there, I drive on the open road mostly, living rurally. I drive 40 minutes to work two days and 80 minute trip to work one day per week. My current car uses too much petrol so i want to find the most economical car for my driving needs. I can afford $18000.00. I have one teenager and don't need to carry loads except the occaisional trailer of lanscaping supplies. Please suggest the best models for me. I was looking at 2016 Prius but was told its not good at open road driving. I look forward to your opinion, cheers Andrea

Hi there,
It does depend on the type of car you want, but a popular class today is medium SUV or hatch.
Some used cars like Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3or 6, Axella or Atenza (import) or Mazda CX-5 would be a few good choices.
