Hello, we just bought a Toyota Avensis 2l import and was told it has cruise control. However upon further inspection, it seems that it doesn’t or I am not sure how the Jap imports cruise control work? It does not have the normal cruise control sticks/indicators and only has a + and - indicator behind the steering wheel. So the question is this: are these part of the cruise control or only “up down gears” when choosing manual? Or doesn’t it have cruise control? Last question: can we put in cruise control if it doesn’t have it? Thanks so much.

The + and - usually refers to transmission change controls, the cruise functions are generally universal and so would be fairly evident if the car was equipped.
I don't think cruise control can be fitted without a considerable cost if it was an option at all.
