I'm looking at buying a Hyundai i30 from around 2010. There's a few options and I'm not sure which is best.
One is a petrol 1.6L with about 100,000 on the clock.
The others a 1.6L turbo diesel with 160,000. It's a little cheaper as you'd imagine with the higher km.

My question is which of those two engines would be expected to last longer with fewer mechanical issues?

Are there any things I should be careful to look out for with this model?

Hi there,
I've not heard negatives about either of them, but I would think that the diesel could have a higher potential for extra maintenance costs as it ages than a petrol.
