I am going to purchase a second hand car. I was all set to buy a Toyota Corolla hatch 2005, but looked up the safety reviews and discovered that the VW golf is safer than the corolla.
Any thoughts of the comparison and what is the resale and spare parts and maintenance on a Golf like? I know the corolla is a good reliable car with good maintenance costs. thank you

The VW's parts may be not too much more for basic servicing items however major parts and electronics tend to be more expensive and complex,
Safety should always be an important factor in your decision.
Buying the safest car you can afford is a good policy, and remember you can limit your risk of an expensive and unexpected repair bill in either car by purchasing a mechanical breakdown warranty.
