Hi there
Have driven a Toyota Carib for the last 20 years. She has been an exceptional vehicle requiring very little maintenance and is suddenly reached the point of requiring turning out to pasture. Time now to look at something smaller, fuel efficient and preferably built to last. And manual. What 1400 - 1500cc vehicles would you recommend to compare to a Suzuki Swift? (It is difficult to consider veering away from Toyota after such a fabulous run with one.)
Many thanks

Hi there,
A small vehicle in manual will be quite hard to find these days and will usually come NZ new in the base models which are quite often intend order. You may find some used ex rental cars.
Holden have a manual Astra, Kia has a manual Cerato, there is Suzuki Swift, Toyota have a manual option in the Yaris and Corolla. These are all not bad cars and span a reasonable price range.

Thanks for your thoughts.
Please clarify what "intend order" is please. Typing too fast?
Where is the best place to look for an ex rental vehicle? I'm guessing that will also equate to high kms?
Thanks again

Ha, sorry. Was supposed to say "Indent", means it that a manual car in some models may need to be ordered specifically with a manual transmission and the dealer may not have one on the showroom floor.
Ex Rentals may be available from an Auction centre like Turners or directly from a Vehicle Fleet company who sells their own stock. Yes they might have slightly higher km's for their age than privately owned cars would.
Ex Demonstrator vehicles might be a bit more appealing and these can be found directly from the manufacturer/dealer.
