Hi,

I’m looking to upgrade to a newer and lower-KM vehicle. I’ve come across a lot of Ex-Police commodores for sale - primarily VF, normally around 4-5 years old and between 180,000 - 195,000 KM’s and for quite a good price (under $10K).

For me I’d be going down in both years and KM’s, but obviously there are some concerns with the fact that obviously these have driven a lot in a short span of time as a fleet vehicle however I understand that fundamentally these are good vehicles regardless of the police history.

I’d likely buy it sight unseen (but with an AA vehicle check done) but they’re all similar vehicles so I’m sure at least they’d be OK in the short term.

Any thoughts or advice I’d appreciate.

Hi there,
There are not really any misgivings on the Commodore and would be no different to an EX fleet rep or rental car with high km's added in a quick time period. It s a case of becoming aware of the condition of the vehicle itself and getting one in the best shape possible.
