I'm going to see a Infinity G35 but it says 2.5L and they say it's non CVT. I'm confused as I thought more than 5 gears are CVT.

Does it sound legit to have 2.5L engine in a Infinity G35? (I thought G35 stands for 3.5L)

It's exactly the same as skyline except for the logo.

5-speed automatic (2006–2008 sedan, 2007-2008 coupe)
7-speed automatic (2008—2015)
A CVT is essentially a 1-speed transmission and can be fitted to pretty much any vehicle these days, however they initially were paired with smaller engines and found in lots of older Japanese imported vehicles.
