Hello

I'm looking for an NZ new Toyota fielder import but have heard bad things about the 2007 CVT transmission. Can you please advise what the problems are with this transmission - are they all bad, or is it a case of badly serviced CVT transmissions going bad ?

Hi there,
I've not heard of Toyota CVT problems, Nissan and Honda of this era lots....
However it is usually lack of servicing or incorrect fluid used that can lead to problems.
It would be a case of finding a car you like and checking up the service history if available.
I think it would be quite rare for a Fielder to be imported new here unless Toyota imported some themselves. The Fielder 1.5 has a CVT but it looks like the 1.8 has a conventional transmission.
