Would this vehicle be suitable for towing a Swift Alpine Diamond Anniversary Caravan 2008 on normal roads conditions not OFF Road.

Traditionally CVT's have not been recommended as being able to tow much more than
your average garden trailer and for some even that could be too much.
As these transmissions have developed and the components get stronger, we are starting to see higher braked towing capacities added.
The 2009 Qashqai is listed on Redbook as having a braked tow capacity of 1,200kg and unbraked of 685kg. I would assume that the import Dualis would be very similar, but it is hard to find specs for most Japanese Imports.
Towing with a CVT is always a risk, they need to be in good condition/ serviced and some may even need an external cooler fitted. It may be best to speak to a transmission specialist for further information.
