I'm trying to decide on what is the best option for a car that can meet the following:

- a daily 100km commute (roundtrip)
- 90km of the trip is windy and hilly open road
- budget $6000-$8000
- must be economical
- not expensive to maintain
- reliable
- comfortable but not fancy
- less than 10 years old

Prefer a station wagon, but other vehicle types are also an option.

What would the best options be?

A Toyota Corolla Fielder comes to mind and would all your descriptions.
Otherwise a hatch like Mazda Axella, Toyota (corolla) Auris, Runx or Allex could also be good.
