I am currently looking at three models. Subaru WRX/S-GT , VW GTI and Mazdaspeed 3.
Which one of these would be best for me?

The categories which I value most are in order.

1) Reliability
2) Fun to drive
3) Economical

I am currently driving a Honda Accord 2007 which I find dull looking and boring to drive. Still want 4 doors, but something with a bit more go on the roads. My budget is around 10k-15k. I would like to get years 2007+.

If reliability is key then the Subaru will be my top pick,
Fun to drive would put the Golf on top.
I would think the Golf the most economical out of the bunch.
I have heard that the 2.3 Turbo Mazda engine can give turbo trouble, the GTi has a great DSG transmission that is super fun to drive but has been known to be a bit temperamental and needs careful maintenance and can have high repair costs if things go wrong. But it is hard to beat a European car for comfort, drive and handling.
The WRX would be my overall pick for a good combination of AWD road grip, turbo power and a reliable package.
