I am seriously thinking of buying a 2010 b180 merc. 60,000 km from japan. are these cars expensive to run and maintain compared to say Toyota wish of same year? parts etc

I would check out a site called "Honest John car reviews" Look for B series mercedes, lots of problems, as is usual for german cars.

My pick between the two would be the Toyota if your criteria is something inexpensive to run and maintain.
European vehicles generally offer luxury but at a price, some don't age very well and can start costing extra to maintain when compared to a Japanese domestic.
