Hello, looking to buy a new car towards the end of this year -

I want something economical, safe, reliable and small.
I drive to work most days, and run errands around town. I don't do a lot of intercity driving, though i would like too escape more on the weekends.

Automatic required, and 4 door hatchback preferred.
I'm thinking of a Suzuki Swift, Nissan March or Toyota Vitz/Yaris
I'm hoping to have between $5-$8k to spend

Any suggestions or recommendations on theses - or others?
Anything to look out for with these models?

Thanks :)

All the models you have chosen are good choices if you are after a small economical four door hatch, however I don't see a mountain bike fitting in easily,
If this is a priority you may want to consider a slightly bigger hatch like the ever popular Mazda Axela, or Toyota Alex, these vehicles may prove more comfortable on a weekend escape and may fetch a similar price.

Thanks :)
MTbike not a deal breaker as we can always put them on top or add a towbar attachment - i was just curious which had a bigger boot.

any recommendations/things to avoid with the swift/march/yaris-vitz?
