G'day

I'm looking at buying a station wagon spending around 8k. I've had a couple mates recommend Subaru legacy, Ford mondeo and Toyota Corolla. Currently I'm leaning towards a Subaru as they seem chepaer for lower KMS with a more modern looking interior. So I've got two questions.

Are Subarus expensive to repair and reliable in comparison to other brands?

Any other recommendations for a wagon?

Subaru's are pretty good and are not really anymore expensive than the next car, they're not known for great fuel economy, but handle and drive well.
Other options can be the Corolla Fielder, Honda Accord Euro, Mazda Atenza (6)
