Hi there!

I've been looking at a Peugeot 307 Xsp 2004 to buy (and also an older Peugeot 306 1996 (low kms).

I've owned a VW Golf before and I'm worried that a European car might be troublesome in terms of repairs.

The little Peugeots look great for a zippy city car to get around Wellington, but I don't want to buy a lemon!

Any advice on Peugeot hatchbacks would be gratefully received (2004 and older too).

Thanks!

Hi there,
Unfortunately often the trade-off when buying an aged European vehicle is that while they drive well and are generally more safe than a Japanese car, repairs as they age become more expensive and frequent. So in short, there is a greater risk of buying something that will require lots of money spend to keep the car on the road.
