As family is coming, a 6 or 7 seats family car is needed to carry all 6 people together for trips sometimes. I am currently hesitating between 2009 Mazda MPV or 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ R350. I tried both cars and they are all good. The price of them are quite close. R350 is more comfortable and its performance is better. MPV is more reliable.

Actually many people have already told me that Benz is very costly in maintenance and repairing. But I don't have a understanding how expensive it can be. So could experts give me suggestion that what kind of common and costly problems I may meet if I buy a R350.

Whichever car I choose, I plan to purchase a 3 or 4 year's mechanical insurance with it. Do you think R350 is acceptable if it has mechanical insurance? On another hand, the Mazda MPV has a turbo type and a non-turbo type. How much will cost roughly for turbo replacement? Can it be covered by mechanical insurance?

I've not heard anything about the MB R350, but the MPV non turbo seems to be a very good combination.
