Hi

I'm interested in buying a used car for my daughter who is a learner drive.

These are the specs of the car:
2006 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 FSI 1600cc

-1.6L Chain Driven Engine (No Cambelt)
-6 Speed Automatic / Tiptronic Transmission
-Power Steering
-Central Locking
-Electric Windows & Mirrors
-12 Airbags
-ABS Brakes
-Alloy Wheels
-Front height adjustable seats
-NZ Multimedia System - NZ Radio / DVD / USB / AUX / Bluetooth / Navigation / Rear View Camera

Is this a suitable first car for a learner driver?

Hi there,
Specs wise these vehicles are ideal and have a great range of safety features.
The engine seems to be a great little unit, the unknown to me would be the transmission.
It might be good to ask a transmission specialist as to what to look for or if they are known to give issue and when to service one should you buy it.
