I was just about to buy the above car when I heard 2x random people tell me that they have a problem with the clutch. I mentioned this to the dealer who told me that these problems were ironed out years ago but on reading a few reports on the internet (Australia) seems was still a problem with the 2015 model. Do you know anything about this and if I go ahead could I ask for assurances from the dealer. There is a 3 year warranty but murpheys law will be that I will have problems soon after. Thank you so much for any advice - regards Georgina

Hi there,
I've not heard of any resent problems with the Golf DSG transmission, we have staff here with multiple Golfs and Tiguan's with these types of transmissions, and they have not given problems. So my thoughts is that they had sorted any problems some of the older ones had. Generally the manufacturer will give their standard warranty, and some manufacturers have been known to negotiate an extension if the vehicle has been plagued by problems within that time (as a goodwill)

Thanks Cade,
It was the GTI Polo I was buying but I suppose "six of one" - It is such a cool wee car. Might go and buy it this afternoon.

Hi Sorry,
I tested last years Polo GTi and loved it. Still not heard complaints from the newer ones, unlike that of older models.
