Hi, we are helping our daughter purchase a car and she is currently looking at a private sale one which was a Japanese import in 2015. We have received the carjam report and it shows it has been in a collision and had been repaired three months before being importing. It appears this was panel damage. It was imported with an R rating. The report has also showed it had an odometer wind back but as far as I can tell this is only 1 k. Should we be concerned about the collision noting? It is hard to tell if it was major damage or a minor ding.

Hello I would not be concerned if the odometer was only very slightly out, however accident damage is concerning you should have the repair work inspected by a qualified panel beater. Evidence of the repairs carried out that can be deciphered by a skilled person.
Ensure the price reflects the vehicles history.

Thanks Ian, will keep that in mind. I guess that's one of the advantages of a history report. You can go into any purchases with at least some knowledge of a cars background rather than completely unaware.
