Hi there,

I'm looking to purchase a Honda Fit 2010 or a Toyota Corolla 2007 (narrowed it down to those two). There is a price difference of $1000 between them, but I like them both. I talked to a mechanic who said many of these cars, especially the Honda Fit, have CVT issues (potentially).

I googled online, but I couldn't find much about those models. Can you let me know your professional opinions (as I do not know much about cars) regarding the RELIABILITY of such models, particularly in respect to the CVT issues? I would prefer the car to be reliable and would like some sort of assurance if possible.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,
Both cars are popular options, the CVT in the Honda has been known to shudder and have been told that 90% of the time can be fixed with a decent fluid change and an additive. But anything more than this can be expensive.
Toyota has not really had many CVT transmission problems that have been brought to our attention.
