Hi, I am looking to buy a hatchback 2008 (or newer), 1.5L and have an upper limit of $10k to spend. I drive approximately 500km every week - in fact my car is on the road 7 days a week. Driving is in Wellington on the motorway as well as around the Hutt Valley and outer suburbs. I currently have a 2006 Toyota Yaris which has done 243,000km (which I have had since 2007 and has been an awesome little workhorse). I am looking for a vehicle that will be able to "stand the distance" as it were as I do not want to be constantly replacing it. What are the best brands/models to look at?

Thanks, Shona

Hi Shona,
A later model vehicle the same as what you had can still be a safe bet, or a NZ new Mazda 2 or 3 immediately come to mind. With other great brands like the Honda Jazz, new Kia Rio, or Hyundai i20 worth considering.
