I'm looking to buy a new wagon for $10-12k. I'm a single Mum with a 10yr old boy so don't need a huge car but do need space for bikes, camping equipment, kids to taxi around etc. I'm looking at either Mazda Premacy 2011, Toyota Corolla Fielder 2011 or Toyota Wish 2009, all with low km's - 70-80km's. What is the the most economical & reliable please? I imagine I'll have this for a long time so need a good investment!

Hi there,
From your list, my pick would be the 2011 Premacy, they look to have 7-seats, a 2.0 litre engine and 5-speed conventional automatic transmission. The other two have smaller engines which would be good for fuel economy but may be under powered when the vehicle is loaded up. But the main difference is that the other two have CVT (1-speed) transmissions, these are an acquired taste in how they operate. CVT's are also pretty good for helping fuel economy and is the way most manufacturers are going with transmissions and steadily getting closer in operation to conventional transmissions.
