I'm planning to visit New Zealand in February 2008 and I'm looking for a car navigation system. I've already asked the most popular manufacturers in Europe for this, but no one can help with a unit compatible with New Zealand or electronic maps for New Zealand.

Are there any mobile car navigation units available in New Zealand or software for a PDA with Windows Mobile OS? If YES, could you please give me an address where to by it?

Yes, New Zealand does have navigation systems. One of the world leader's in GPS navigation, NAVMAN, was actually founded here.

I am currently trialling the top of the range Navman system, the S90i. I have found it to be 100% accurate and very easy to use thus far.

There are several systems on the market and prices vary from around $300 NZ for the basic models, to about $950 NZ for the likes of the S90i.
