had my Swift now for a year and find it a good car to drive. Will it maintain its value against other similar sized cars well if I want to sell it in the next couple of years

Who really knows. but if the popularity of this model continues I suspect they will hold their prices better than most other small vehicles.

Fuel prices often dictate car values, so if we experience the past highs in the future, all small cars could retain their values better.
