Can you advise on where I can find someone in Hawke's Bay other than the local dealer who can provide a legal towbar for my car?
If price is the issue then think very carefully.
Firstly there are industry standards (nothing written into law) that the more expensive towbar manufactures will built to and not compromise on. They take into account the recommended towing weights the towbar is expected to handle as well as ensuring the fitment does not place undue stress on the body.
A cheaper towbar may very well bypass all or some of the above.
Have a look at the Bestbar web site for an agent in your area. They build approved towbars for many of the new car distributors in NZ and also supply to the aftermarket trade.
